Legal Notice

The “socsemics” project is supervised by Camille Roth, funded through a Consolidator Grant by the European Research Council, and hosted by the French Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS). Research is being executed at Centre Marc Bloch (Friedrichstrasse 190, 10117 Berlin, Germany), a research centre which is also a CNRS lab.

General information on data processing

Creation of log files

When you visit the website of the socsemics ERC project, your browser automatically sends information to the web server of the TGIR Huma-Num. This information is stored in so-called “log files” for a period of twelve months and then deleted. We need and process this information solely to ensure the smooth running of the website and to resolve any technical problems that may arise. The following data is temporarily stored in the log files:

  • Date and time of access
  • Your IP address
  • Date and time of your access to the site
  • Address of the requested page
  • Address of the previously visited website (referrer), if it is linked to us.
  • Name and version of your browser/operating system (if transferred)
  • Web analytics

The tools Awstats (TGIR Huma-Num) and WP Statistics are used for statistical evaluation of the use of the socsemics ERC project website. Cookies and JavaScript are used to collect various information on your computer and transmit it anonymously to the servers of the TGIR Huma-Num. 

Use of cookies

When you visit the socsemics ERC project website, small text files, so-called cookies, are stored in your browser. To improve the quality of the socsemics ERC project website, external services are also used for which additional cookies can be created in your browser. The external services used are: YouTube.

You can set your browser so that it informs you when cookies are set and gives you the opportunity to decide whether to accept or decline individual cookies for your browser session.

Data security

In order to protect the security of your data during transmission between your browser and the web server of TGIR Huma-Num, we use state-of-the-art encryption procedures. This includes the use of the SSL protocol (Secure Socket Layer).
